When the Citroen DS was launched at Paris Motor Show in October 1955 it was so futuristic in its design and so innovative in its technical features that contemporary rivals looked immediately dated. The DS was styled by Italian sculptor and industrial designer Flaminio Bertoni and French aeronautical engineer André Lefèbvre. As in French language the model name "DS" is pronounced like "déesse" (=goddess), the car was called "la déesse", the goddess, in its home country - what a perfect name for such a divine automobile.

The most famous technical innovation of the DS was its hydropneumatic suspension including automatic leveling system and variable ground clearance. In 1967 the DS got a major facelift with double headlights covered behind glass. With this design production continued until 1975.

This DS 21 is from 1972. It features A/C and new blue leather seats. According to the owner the car is in good condition and ready to run from Bangkok to Phuket.
