FOR SALE: 1952 Austin A30 Saloon Nissan A14 engine and manual 5-speed gearbox. Black/cream colour and cream leather. The Austin A30 was a compact car introduced by Austin Motor Company in 1951. Production continued until 1956. Originally only offered as a 4-door saloon, a 2-door variant was introduced in 1953. It featured the newly-designed A-Series 4-cylinder engine and - when pushed to the limit - the A30 was able to attain a (factory quoted) top speed of 110 km/h. The Motor magazine tested a top speed of 100 km/h in 1952.
The Austin A30 was also built by Datsun in Japan under licence from Austin, with some 20,000 units produced in the early 1950s. Further developments of the Austin engine continued to power Datsun and Nissan cars all over the world henceforward.
